DrainGuard Foundation Drainage System

Waterproofing products of all kinds require a functioning ground water drainage sytem. The purpose is to remove accumulated ground water from around a foundation and under the basement floor. Water could enter the basement at the joint where the floor meets the foundation wall if a properly operating drainage system is not in place.

Drainage System

DrainGuard is a composite foundation drainage system which drains water from the exterior of your basement. It is made of a non-woven filter fabric and strong, high density polyehtylene core that will withstand heavy soils when used for backfilling and not be crushed. With a high rate of flow from an 85% open area (compared to 1%-3% in corrugated pipe) the rapidly collected water is directed to daylight or a sump. Fast istallation and no gravel used in backfilling means greatly reduced building costs and increased production. The addition of chimneys to the drainage system will greatly reduce hydrostatic pressures and speed water away from foundation.

Other ways to help keep your basement dry are to slope the grade of the soil away from the building and install gutters and down spouts directed away from the foundation or connecting them to the installed drainage system.
